Value Shapes
I did not have very good control of my pencils, thus, it's a bit wonky. With shapes like the cylinder and square, I wish I had had a better understanding of perspective to make the general form look nicer. That, and with the square and the pyramid, I accidentally placed my shadow at a slant that did not follow the direction it should've gone. Overall, I could've done much better.
I actually think, although it's kind of cropped out and shoved to the side, that I prefer the unboxed value
chart' as opposed to the top one. For the top one, I shouldve made my lightest shade mouch lighter and draw from light to dark instead.

Unseen Things
1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing (sketches, planning, in progress, etc).
I started out by compiling multiple objects and basically seeing what works. With sketches I then went in and changed the positioning slightly when I saw fit. Though working with the background objects through the glass was hard
2. How important is composition to the success of your drawing?
Very important. If the glasses aren't clearly behind each other it doesn't show up as well. That, and if
it isnt compiled correctly everything will look off.
3. Explain how you found the different values in your object?
Because its glass it was relatively easy I'd say. I looked for slight changed of darker values in the reflection. Then tried to make the highlights definite by surrounding them with shades.
4. Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your drawing? How?
I believe I did. Though there's obvious stark contrast, you can still see gradients. There's an obvious use of multiple different shades.
5. Describe your craftsmanship. Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
It definitely could've been neater. Though, I think the front bottle is shaped neatly.
6. How important was learning the skills and techniques prior to the final drawing?
Pretty important, I'd say. Without learning those other shading techniques it would've been difficult to complete. Same with learning things like the rule of 3rds.
7. How did you grow as an artist?
I think I grew as an artist by taking mistakes and attempting to fix them. I learned a lot about composition and shading. That, and I feel more comfortable making pencil strokes.
8. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
I had difficulty with the glass. I overcame it by making really dark and really light areas within the piece. I also struggled with the more metallic bits and wish I had put my emphasis on them.

Graphite Day 1
I honestly dont like the way the pen turned out. I had a really difficult time controlling it and keeping the lines from ending up so shaky.
Graphite Day 2
I feel the pen on this day turned out better. Although the edges of the lines are still shaky its clearly less so. I feel I should've made the image bigger so I could add more variety in line width.

Pen Perspective
1) I used vertical lines to simulate shading within the hood because I thought it would differentiate from the black background
2) I tried to use perspective on the womans face and attempted to show it through the shoulder, but I definitely could've exaggerated it better. Perspective is important because it adds depth to a drawing.
3) Texture is important to my composition because it adds the detail that's lost with the background.
4) Value is important because it helps discern what is being shown in the piece.
5) My craftsmanship is rather poor. I had a very difficult time controlling the pen so there are many areas with shaky lines or lines that go out of the area they were meant to go. The reason the background is black is because of a mistake I made with the hood.
6) I would redo the sketch entirely, primarily the face and hands as Im not satisfied with how it turned out.
7) I recreated sleeping beauty but historically accurate. I demonstrated this by drawing her in the clothes she would wear in that time period.
8) I feel its very important because if I had focused more on the techniques I feel my piece would be far less sloppy.
9) To really take my time and plan in advance on what techniques I want to use and what it'll end up looking like in the end.
